It happens every day.  On average, it could only cost about $490 to get it done.  The vast majority do it to cut down on an unwanted interference in their lives or to avoid complicating already difficult situations.  Many also say it creates a burden on an already tight budget.  So they take the life of an unborn child.  It happened approximately 3,000 times yesterday and over 55 million times since the Roe v. Wade decision was handed down by our Supreme Court 43 years ago today.  And that’s just in our country.  The purpose of this brief note is not to give the Biblical foundation for the personhood of the unborn (and it is there) nor to cite the Scriptures that condemn the taking of unborn lives (and they are there, too).  I’ve done that many times in messages here at Berean, so if you have any questions, just let me know.  Today’s note is simply to remind you that it’s still happening.  In fact, at least 2 precious lives of unborn children have been snuffed out in our country just in the minute or so it has taken you to read this far.  So today, on the dark anniversary of Roe v. Wade, take time to grieve.  Take time to pray for the killing to be stopped.  Take time to better educate yourself both Biblically and practically on why the life of an unborn child is precious.  Take time to find an avenue of personal involvement to stand for the unborn who cannot speak for themselves.  Take time to speak the truth in love to those you know who may be considering an abortion and to give the message of God’s grace and forgiveness to the one who has had one.  And in this important election year, take time to be informed on a candidate’s position on abortion before you cast your ballot.  Take time.  Do something.
