“Daddy, carry me.”  It’s been a long, long time since I heard those words from my children, but how well I remember them!  I’ve heard them at the zoo, the shopping mall, the beach, and the playground.  And I carried them.  Then there were the rainy days, the muddy paths, the slippery steps, and the dark hallways when they didn’t realize it, but they needed help.  And I carried them then, too.  Sometimes they stretched out their little arms, and sometimes they didn’t.  But I carried them.  The problem is, at times I got tired and had to put them down.  Then there were the times I couldn’t be there.  And now, honestly, they’re just too big for me to carry.  In fact, it got to the point where I had to tell them that!  Part of Isaiah 63:9 says, “…in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bare them, and carried them all the days of old.”  Maybe today, you’ve grown weary on life’s path.  Perhaps you’re fearfully facing a crowded path of circumstances that seem to overwhelm you.  Or maybe it’s rainy and dark, but you are stubbornly determined to make it on your own.  Whatever you’re facing, wherever you are, why don’t you just look Heavenward, stretch out your arms, and say, “Daddy, carry me”?  Your Heavenly Father will never grow tired.  He’ll never not be there.  And you know what else?  You’ll never get too big for Him to pick you up and carry you through!
