The purpose of the Berean Baptist Youth Group is to see our teenagers consumed with a desire to glorify God in everything they do. It would give us great joy to see our teens developed spiritually to such an extent that they are mighty in spirit, faithful in service, consistent in the scriptures, and burdened for souls. What does this look like?
Mighty in Spirit
Why do you believe what you believe? Through interactive studies and lively testimony times, our faith is strengthened, our positions are solidified, and our focus is set. And through encouragement to be sensitive to the Spirit’s prompting, we seek to become young men and women who are mighty in spirit.
Faithful in Service
Get plugged in! From Vacation Bible School to our Rent-A-Teen program and missions trips, service opportunities abound! We are further encouraged to Christ-like service through bonus points in our IGNITE! program for service in the church and in the community.
Consistent in Scriptures
“Have you had your God and I time each day this week?” This is a question we regularly ask. Daily devotions must be a habit in the life of a believer if he is to grow and thrive. And so, incorporated into our IGNITE! program is a method for daily devotions and Bible Memory. The Bible is not a boring, old-fashioned book. We see it applied to every day life by asking the simple question, “So what? How does this affect me?” every time we look at God’s Word.
Burdened for Souls
Through soulwinning our mission is to reach the Macon area with the Gospel of Christ. Once a month we meet on Saturday mornings and knock on the doors of our neighborhoods, seeking to spread the message of salvation. Our mission, however, does not end at home. Through mission trips around the world, we are encouraged to look beyond the boundaries of our language and culture to see the need of a lost and dying world.
We would love to have you join us and see what we are all about. Check us out in Sunday School on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. and in our IGNITE! meetings on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. See you there!
