Who We Are

Berean Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church serving Macon and Middle Georgia since 1978. We believe that God wants to use the local church to bless people’s lives. Our goal is to minister to every member of the family!

We strive to provide both doctrinal and practical teachings from God’s Word that will help us in relevant ways as we seek to serve Him. We offer numerous opportunities for God’s people to use their talents for His glory as they serve in our church.

Through our ministries and activities, we experience the joy of serving the Lord, reaching others with the gospel, and building friendships with fellow believers. We have Sunday school classes for all ages, a children’s church on Sunday mornings, and a nursery for little ones during each service. Our Wednesday night programs also include special activities for teens and children.

Leadership

Pastor Joe Bowker

Pastor Joe Bowker is well-acquainted with the Middle Georgia area, having grown up in Macon. He and his wife, Tina, who is also a Macon native, both graduated from Gilead Christian Academy in Macon and the Baptist University of America. They were married on July 25, 1980, and have four children: Laura, Joseph, Brian, and Leslie, along with seven grandchildren. For many years, Pastor Joe and Tina served as missionaries in Mexico with their children. They joined Berean Baptist Church in July 2003 and consider it a privilege to serve the Lord alongside their church family.
