It’s a choice, a daily choice.  Sometimes it’s easy; sometimes it’s hard.  Sometimes we feel like it; sometimes we feel just the opposite.  Yet, without a doubt, it’s the best way to live.  And not only the best way, it’s the Bible way to live.  King David expresses it in Psalm 145:1-2: “I will extol Thee, my God, O king; and I will bless Thy name for ever and ever.  Every day will I bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name for ever and ever.”  Think about both verses, but I ask that you really focus on that first phrase of verse 2.  “Every day will I bless Thee.”  David was committed to make a choice, a daily choice to bless his God.  That word “bless” here carries the idea of humble kneeling in adoration, praise, and thanksgiving.  Now, I’ll say that blessing the Lord and His name is not the hard part.  He certainly is worthy, isn’t He?  The difficulty lies in “every day.”  There are days that easily lend themselves to praise.  And then there are those other days….  You know what I’m talking about, don’t you?  To worship and praise the Lord is the farthest thing from our mind.  The problem seems to loom too large, or the betrayal has cut too deep, or perhaps the doubt has washed over us like a tsunami, trying to destroy everything in its path.  But let’s remember that days like these are part of that “every day.”  If we can simply lift our eyes up enough and bend our knees humbly enough, we will be able to see and acknowledge our God who is deserving of our praise and worthy of our trust.  The problem may not go away, the betrayal may keep cutting, and the doubt may keep knocking, but as we choose to bless Him and to praise Him, we will find the grace, strength, and peace to carry on.  Make the right choice today.  And every day.  Lift your heart with King David and say, “Every day will I bless Thee.”
