It’s true.  I knew it was true before and wasn’t doubting at all.  But it’s still good to be reminded.  And when God reminds us, it’s something, isn’t it?  Here’s what I mean.  Our theme for this year’s missions conference back in September was “Not in Vain.”  In fact, this has been a point of emphasis here at Berean throughout 2022.  So here’s the reminder.  This past weekend, Tina and I had the wonderful privilege of being involved in the anniversary conference of the Living Word Baptist Church, a congregation the Lord allowed us to plant back in 1992.  Renewing fellowship with those that have been there from the beginning and meeting the new generation of lives touched by this ministry was a blessing that I can’t put into words.  Indeed, “not in vain.”  But there was more.  On Saturday night of the conference, a couple came up to me, and the husband told me his story.  He said that I probably wouldn’t remember him (I didn’t), but he was a teenager in a youth conference I spoke in at another church in 1991.  The message that night convicted him, and he trusted Christ as Savior.  Soon after that, he surrendered to the ministry and now has been pastoring a church in the northern part of the Mexico City area for the last several years.  He stated that he just wanted to say a sincere “Gracias” for giving the gospel the night he got saved that set him on the path of following Christ.  If my heart was full before that, it was overflowing after.  It IS true.  What we do for the Lord and for His glory is absolutely “not in vain”!  Sometimes we clearly see it, but sometimes we don’t.  But even in those times, it’s still true, and we embrace it by faith.  Be encouraged today; you just never know whom you have touched for Christ, the difference you have made, the blessing you have left behind.  And you may never know until Heaven when the Lord pulls back the curtain and you see what He was able to do because you were faithful.  “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”  Yes, it’s true!
