It’s just a simple request, made from a simple and sincere desire.  This prayer by King David is recorded in Psalm 86, and when I read it today, that simple request jumped off the page at me in all its dynamic truth.  Found in verse 11, it goes like this: “Teach me Thy way, O Lord; I will walk in Thy truth: unite my heart to fear Thy name.”  Essentially David was saying, “Lord, point out where you want me to go and what you want me to do, and I will obey; give me an undivided reverence for You.”  As I said, quite simple.  God, You speak, and I’ll listen; point, and I’ll go; command, and I’ll obey.  Yes, there is opposition to that simplicity.  It’s the Devil.  And the worldly system opposed to God.  And worst of all, my own sin nature.  But I’ll tell you, I believe that spending time in God’s word and sincerely praying that prayer every day will bring victory over any opposition.  God still answers prayer doesn’t He?  Talk about revival!  Will you embrace this truth with me?  Will you pursue an undivided heart for God?  Will you live, as someone else said, “in sweet accordance” to His will?
