We know the verse.  We know the truth.  We’d never deny it, yet we often fail to live it.  And when we don’t, we may fear, give up, stray, or wallow in discouragement and self-pity.  It’s from Psalm 23 – a passage you could probably quote from memory.  It’s in verse 4, and it’s a phrase to meditate on today. “For Thou art with me.”  You know the phrase, don’t you?  But have you stopped recently to meditate on its full power and implication?  In your days of uncertainty, God is with you; let Him be your Rock.  In your times of darkness, God is with you; let Him be your Light.  In your moments of heartache and pain, God is with you; let Him be your Peace.  In your hours of confusion, God is with you; let Him be your Truth.  In your times of temptation, God is with you; let Him be your Deliverer.  In your days of weariness and weakness, God is with you; let Him be your Strength.  In your moments of decision, God is with you; let Him be your Wisdom.  And, yes, in your occasions of joy and triumph, God is with you; let Him be your Praise.  Take a few minutes and carefully read Psalm 23.  Then even more carefully read verse 4 again.  And then beyond that, carefully meditate on the truth of your Heavenly Shepherd’s presence.  “For Thou art with me.”
