This popped up in my Facebook memories yesterday from 10 years ago.  It sure spoke to me, so I thought I’d share it today.  I pray it will do the same for you!

The Pharisees were upset because a group of children were praising the Lord Jesus.  Christ simply replied to them, “Hearest thou what these say? Yea, have ye never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes…Thou hast perfected praise’?” (Matthew 21:15-16)  Last night my two-year-old grandson reminded me of that truth.  On the spur of the moment, we had decided to go with Blake and his mom to see some Christmas lights and a drive-thru nativity.  As we slowly drove through, pointing out the different scenes of the Christmas story to Blake, he excitedly pointed and strained to see each one.  The Roman soldiers (he was a little scared of them), the donkey, the angel Gabriel, shepherds, etc. were all there.  As we approached the final scene of Joseph, Mary, and the baby Jesus in the stable, we saw three elegantly robed wise men with their camels (cardboard ones, I think) behind them.  I said, “Blake, there are the wise men!”  And this two-year-old responded, “Gifts for Him!”  Silence filled the car for a moment.  And he said it again.  “Gifts for Him!”  You see, Blake had been learning a song at his little nursery school about Christmas, and in that song it talks about the wise men who “brought gifts for Him.”  Wow.  We would all do well this Christmas to remember the simple “perfected praise” from the mouth of this child.  It’s very easy to get caught up in all the rush and hoopla and forget that it should truly be about “gifts for Him.”  What will yours be this year?

A good reminder, don’t you think?
