Right there in my driveway. You couldn’t miss it. Unmistakable. Undeniable. Zaxby’s. My daughter, who works as a marketing director for a Zaxby’s licensee group, was home last weekend, and she came directly from a trip to a meeting representing her group in Charleston, SC. The meeting required that she drive the group’s small catering van instead of her own car. And there it was in my driveway, a veritable rolling billboard for Zaxby’s chicken. I teasingly asked her if she stopped and had lunch on the way home, maybe at Chick-fil-A? She laughed and said she had thought about grabbing a bite at Chick-fil-A (don’t tell her bosses), but she quickly remembered what she was in. And you know what would have happened if other customers had spotted that Zaxby’s van parked at the competition’s restaurant. Yep, a can’t-miss social media moment! Now, this note isn’t meant to spark a debate about chicken restaurants, but there is a good spiritual lesson here. You see, the Bible says in Galatians 3:27 that the child of God has “put on Christ.” That simply means we bear His name and should reflect Him wherever we go and in whatever we do. We are living, breathing, walking advertisements for our Savior. That’s something to remember, isn’t it? As we face choices on where to go, what to say, and how to act, we must consider the fact that we are to represent Christ, and represent Him well. And if we’re found in the competition’s parking lot, enjoying what the world, the flesh, or the Devil has to offer, well, I think you get the picture. Let’s decide to represent our Lord today in a way that honors Him. Now, all I have to do is decide where I’ll eat lunch today….
