Today’s the day.  My eye appointment day, that is.  You know how it goes.  Cover one eye and read the chart.  Answer the sometimes impossible question “Is this clearer? – or this? – or this?” and then your best guess.  The bright light, the dilated eyes, and those cool sunglasses.  Then the adjusted prescription and off to order new glasses.  But all that is good, a necessary part of life, because our vision is vital and precious.  When our vision gets a little fuzzy, the properly prescribed lens can correct it and help us clearly see things as they truly are.  So, let’s think about our vision today.  No, not the physical but the spiritual.  Think about your life.  Your choices.  Your beliefs.  Eternity.  There are times when the right path for our lives isn’t clear.  The options for our choices are a little fuzzy.  Our beliefs are called into question and doubt may even creep in.  Eternity seems dim and so far off.  And the question comes: is this better?  Or this?  Or this?  Or maybe this?  Let me tell you that life, choices, beliefs, and especially eternity are things we should never guess about.  We need a prescription to clarify things, a lens just the right strength to clear it all up.  Well, the Great Physician wrote that prescription for us.  It’s universal.  It’s inspired.  It’s trustworthy.  It’s incapable of error.  It’s the Bible.  Look through the lens of Scripture, and life is explained.  Who am I?  How did I get here?  Why am I here?  What should I believe?  Where am I going?  It’s all clear in God’s word.  Problems seeing?  Make an appointment with God’s word today and every day; that’ll bring a clear focus to things!  Remember, “The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes” (Psalm 19:8).
