I love music.  Not that I sing well or even play an instrument.  I simply love music.  I constantly listen to music while here at the office (like right now).  In my car, music is usually playing.  Working around the house by myself is a great chance to turn on music and sing along, especially since no one is there to hear me.  But sometimes I simply need music.  Or better, the message that good Christian music can give that speaks to the heart.  I can’t tell you how many times the Lord has spoken to my heart through a song.  I like what Paul says in Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”  Singing…in your hearts to the Lord.  That’s what happened to me this week.  The song was comforting, challenging, and just what I needed at the moment.  What grabbed my attention, or actually my heart, was the second stanza and chorus.  It went like this: “I must confess that I’ve known disappointment, but somehow I’m still here and You’re still God.  Lord, I know You’ve held me through each moment; I have learned Your grace is enough.”  Then the chorus: “So on the mountains walk with me, and in the valleys deep.  Remind me in the hard times that I have promises to keep; ’cause life is hard for everyone with battles fought and lost and won.  But when it’s all said and done…find me faithful.”  And that’s been my primary prayer this week.  Lord, when it’s all said and done, find me faithful to Your word.  To Your calling.  To You.  Well, that’s my heart for this week; perhaps the words to that song will help you as well.  As I said, I love music!
