Have you ever considered giving up? Ever let discouragement pull you down, down, down to the point of despair? Felt the weight of life’s burdens bringing you to the point of collapse? Maybe even that God had turned a deaf ear to your cry? Ever wondered if staying true to the Lord and His word was worth it? Well, I have no answer to any of these scenarios or anything else that may be beating you up today. But I can point you in the right direction. And it will help. No, not just help; it will carry you through today and anything tomorrow brings. It’s something I read this week and looked at again today. Read it carefully. Read it prayerfully. Read it meditatively. Let it soak; let it simmer. Let it fill your heart and flow into your daily walk. Here it is, from Psalm 84:8-12. “O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah. Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed. For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in Thee.” Cling to God: He is your sun and shield. Trust in God: He gives grace and glory. Open your arms wide to God: He will provide what best meets your need. He is the answer to whatever you face today or in the days to come!
