“I don’t know.”  I must admit that I have to say those words on a regular basis.  When there’s something I don’t know, sometimes I can resolve that by asking someone else or looking up the answer.  Sometimes by waiting, time provides the solution.  And then sometimes what I don’t know just stays that way – I don’t and can’t know.  Like why certain things happen.  Or what the future holds.  But you know what they say: “It’s not what you know; it’s who you know.”  And that’s the point of today’s note.  Life can be full of “I don’t know’s,” but if we know the right “Who,” then it doesn’t matter if we know or not.  Of course, that person is our Heavenly Father!  Psalm 147:5 says, “…His understanding is infinite.”  It’s called omniscience, and that truth about God ought to influence our lives every single day.  Someone defined God’s omniscience like this: “He knows Himself and all other things; whether they be actual or merely possible, whether they be past, present, or future, and that He knows them perfectly and from all eternity. He knows things immediately, simultaneously, exhaustively, and truly.”  Now that’s a mouthful!  But it ought to be a heartful!  If all that is true (and it is!), then my God can be trusted.  You see, because He is all-knowing, nothing catches him by surprise; therefore, all I need is already prepared.  Because He is all-knowing, He knows and understands all that happens around me, to me, and in me.  Because He is all-knowing, His warnings as well as directions are fail proof and can be followed.  And because He is all-knowing, I must walk in the light of the fact that I can’t hide anything from Him.  No, I don’t know everything (and sometimes I wonder if I know anything), but I know Someone who does.  And that’s what matters most!
