They’ve become so familiar.  “Safer at Home.”  “Shelter at Home.”  “Shelter in Place.”  On Wednesday, here in Georgia our governor said he is declaring a “shelter in place” order for us, trying to deter as much as possible the spread of the coronavirus.  Some have even called these changes in lifestyle the “new normal.”  And that seems to be exactly what it is as we face the next few weeks, at least.  As I thought about that this morning, the Lord brought a verse to my mind from Proverbs 18:10: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it and is safe.”  Of course, the “name of the Lord” in this verse refers to our God Himself and all He is as revealed to us by His word.  And there in Him is our “strong tower” of safety, supply, and strength.  That is a “shelter in place” we all need; in fact, we’ve needed it all along!  Maybe you’re already there; then stay there.  Maybe you’re struggling with all that’s happening with the health crisis; then run there.  Maybe it’s something else you’re facing today on top of all the coronavirus news; then run there.  Now.  Don’t wait; don’t wonder; run.  That’s where the peace is.  Where the grace is.  Where the true sense of safety is.  As the old hymn says, “The Lord’s our Rock, in Him we hide; a shelter in the time of storm.  Secure whatever ill betide; a shelter in the time of storm.  A shade by day, defense by night; a shelter in the time of storm.  No fears alarm, no foes affright; a shelter in the time of storm.  O Jesus is a Rock in a weary land, a weary land, a weary land.  O Jesus is a Rock in a weary land; a shelter in the time of storm.”  And that’s a “shelter in place” I can welcome.  How about you?
