Good morning!  Some may respond, “What’s so good about it?”  Personally, I love the early morning.  It brings the expectation of a fresh day.  A fresh chance to pick up and complete what had to be left undone yesterday.  Fresh opportunities and challenges.  Another day to do something for God.  When you think “freshness,” what comes to mind?  Fresh-baked bread?  A fresh, hot pot of coffee?  Fresh flowers cut and arranged on the table?   As I think about all the freshness a new morning brings, I believe the greatest blessing of any morning is found in the familiar passage in Lamentations 3:22-23, “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.”  That word “new” literally means a “fresh, new thing.”  You could say “brand new.”  Or even “brand-spanking new.”  God’s wonderful mercy that withholds deserved and certain judgment for our failures is never stale or out-of-date.  No warmed-up leftovers.  Just the opposite!  Every single morning of every single day we face, God’s fresh and vibrant mercy is compassionately bestowed on His children.  So, whether you’re a “morning person” or the proverbial “night owl,” remember that a new morning means new mercy!  As I said, “Good morning!”
